IVTOM's board is separated into two categories:

  • IVTOM Board - The IVTOM Board is comprised of accredited IVTOM members from all over the world. Each brings a unique background and skill set to the group.  The board meets monthly to organize and plan events, master classes, seminars, conferences, and create continuing education opportunities.

  • Advisory Board - The Advisory Board consists of thirteen medical professionals, vocologists, and voice teachers. They are committed to teacher education and actively participate in IVTOM by presenting at conferences, writing teaching tips, and keeping the organization up to date with the most recent scientific and medical findings on the voice.

Dean Kaelin is the founder of IVTOM (the International Voice Teachers of Mix), a Certified Master Teacher and is the voice coach for the Disney TV show “High School Musical: the musical, the series”.

He has trained teachers and singers all over the world for over 36 years. His students have been featured on, and won, programs such as Star Search, American Idol, The Voice, and have performed on Broadway, signed major record deals and performed at every major Theme Park in the U.S.

He is a sought out presenter and performer, and has conducted vocal seminars and performed on 5 continents. He has a degree in Jazz Composition from the University of Utah and a Masters Degree from Brigham Young University. He was an Associate Professor of Music at Westminster College in Salt Lake City for 7 years.

Kenneth Bozeman holds performance degrees from Baylor University and the University of Arizona and subsequently studied at the State Conservatory of Music in Munich on a Rotary fellowship. He taught at Lawrence University for 42 years, where he received two awards for excellent in teaching. He was awarded the Van Lawrence Fellowship by the Voice Foundation in 1994 for his interest in voice science and was inducted into the American Academy of Teachers of Singing in 2019. Kelley Hijleh is an applied voice teacher who enjoys combining her experience as a singer and a singing teacher with her voice pedagogy and voice science knowledge to help singers build a good vocal foundation. Ms. Hijleh holds a BMus and a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Voice Performance. She was mentored in vocal acoustics by Dr. Donald Miller (1933-2020), one of the creators of the voice analysis software, Voce Vista for 15 years, and has been an invited presenter and discussant on Voce Vista and vocal acoustics. Ms. Hijleh is the Associate Director of the Singing Voice Science Workshop and has presented annually at the workshop since it was founded in 2015. She also serves on an advisory board for Voce Vista, LLC. As an experienced practitioner, Ms. Hijleh provides tutoring in VoceVista’s use and application. In 2021, her article “Realizing the Benefits of SOVTEs: A Reflection on the Research,” co-written by Cory Pinto, was published in the Journal of Singing. Ms. Hijleh has been on the voice faculties of Houghton College, SUNY-Fredonia, Montclair State University, and The King’s College (NYC). Dann Mitton sang professionally as a classical bass. Ingo R. Titze is the executive director of the National Center for Voice and Speech and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and also teaches at the Summer Vocology Institute. He is a University of Iowa Foundation Distinguished Professor in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology and Professor Emeritus in the School of Music. Formally educated as a physicist (PhD) and engineer (MSEE), Dr. Titze has applied his scientific knowledge to a lifelong love of clinical voice and vocal music. Specifically, his research interests include biomechanics of human tissues, acoustic phonetics, speech science, voice disorders, professional voice production, musical acoustics, and the computer simulation of voice. Dr. Titze has published over 350 articles in scientific and educational journals, authored books entitled Principles of Voice Production and The Myoelastic-Aerodynamic Theory of Phonation and is currently completing his third book, entitled Vocology and is the father of vocology, a specialty within speech-language pathology. He has defined the word and the specialty as “the science and practice of voice habilitation.”
