“MIX” singing gives singers the capability to perform with a smooth, strong, connected, and consistent sound, from the bottom to the top of their vocal range. Singers who MIX can easily transition through the bridges in their voice, blending registers effortlessly and without strain. MIX singing is a technique that can be applied to any style of singing and typically expands and strengthens a singer's range. The balanced and continuous sound enables singers to focus on performing a song, regardless of their musical style, as their voice is strong, flexible, and reliable.
MIX is a vocal technique that teaches singers how to move smoothly through the bridges or “breaks” in the voice by getting the body in balance, vocalizing with centered vowels, and keeping the larynx in a relaxed position. Learn more about MIX here and see video demonstrations of MIX singing here.

IVTOM is an association of voice teachers who teach MIX. This technique focuses on the full range of the voice and developing the ability to sing through the bridges, not avoiding them or “sneaking” around them. MIX singing can be used in all musical styles, and IVTOM welcomes and encourages teachers from all backgrounds.
IVTOM is a non-profit organization and encourages the input of its members. The IVTOM Board meets monthly to discuss the needs of the members and arrange for continued education and events.
