In IVTOM, we encourage all of our members to continue learning, developing, and growing as teachers, singers, and those wishing to understand the human voice and vocal principles better. We take great pride in how our members seek out education and recognize its importance in their success.
There are four types of membership:
- Subscriber – those who want to enjoy the benefits of the IVTOM programs and education but are not working toward becoming an Ivtom Accredited teacher
- Accredited Track – those working toward Accredited status
- Ivtom Accredited Teacher – those who have achieved Accredited status
- Medical Professional – ENTs, SLPs, voice scientists, etc.
IVTOM Subscriber Requirements
Subscribers pay a little higher fee to access all of the education and programs that IVTOM offers but do not have to meet any requirements to remain a member. Requirements are:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Acceptance of the IVTOM Teacher Code of Ethics.
- $125 annual fee
IVTOM Accredited Track Membership Requirements
If you have limited teaching experience or are an experienced teacher who hasn’t studied Mix, the Accredited Track may be a good fit for you. Accredited Track members are working toward becoming Accredited IVTOM Teachers. Requirements are:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Basic musical abilities and currently working toward becoming a Mix Voice Teacher
- Acceptance of the IVTOM Teacher Code of Ethics and commit to teaching the principles of Mix.
- $85 annual fee.
- Accredited Track members must be working towards becoming Accredited Teachers.
IVTOM Accredited Teacher Membership Requirements
To become an Accredited Teacher, you will demonstrate your ability to sing and teach Mix and pass a course that includes various tests to verifying your understanding of vocal function, physiology, and acoustics. Requirements are:
- A one-time, non-refundable $25 application fee to cover video/audio and application review will be added to your first year’s dues.
- Must be 20 years of age or older
- Minimum 2 years of vocal teaching experience, college music degree or comparable vocal, music, and teacher training
- Currently teaching at least 5 students per week.
- Acceptance of the IVTOM Teacher Code of Ethics and commit to teaching the principles of Mix.
- Video or audio or in-person demonstration of personal ability to Mix
- Teach a lesson while being observed by two IVTOM Mentors
- Complete the training course showing your knowledge of important voice teaching principles such as vocal anatomy, physiology, vocal function, and acoustics.
- $85 annual membership fee
- To retain accredited status, fulfill Continuing Education requirements (see details below)
Professional Medical Membership Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Currently working as a medical professional or voice scientist
- Acceptance of the IVTOM Teacher Code of Ethics
- Free membership
IVTOM Continuing Education Requirements

Continuing Education Activities:
- Attending (in person or online) at least 2 days of an IVTOM-Sponsored Voice Conference: 4 credits
- Attending (in person or online) at least 2 days of a Polish MIX Voice Conference: 4 credits
- Two (2) Hours of IVTOM-Sponsored regional or local training: 1 credit
- IVTOM-Sponsored Masterclass: 1 credit
- 30-minute private lesson with any IVTOM Mentor to work on your own voice: 1 credit
- 30-minute private session with any IVTOM Mentor for discussion, teaching observation, Q&A, etc.: 1 credit
To track your continuing education credits:
- Sign into your account on ivtom.org
- In the left toolbar, click on “My Account”
- Click on “Continuing Education Tracker”
- Follow the directions under your name
- Enter event date in MM/DD/YYYY
All past accrued credit history will remain in your account; however, all points will be set back to zero on January 1st of every year.
