Weekly Teaching Tip – Sep. 11, 2017
by John Henny
If you are trying to build your studio, bragging is one of the worst things you can do.
Because you have made it about you rather than your potential students.
When I say “bragging,” I am referring to making your accomplishments and achievements the main reason people should choose you.
While having solid credentials is important, it is only one part of the consumer’s decision-making process, and it is often not the most important part. It is only one part of the story and best left for your “About” page.
As I pointed out in a previous tip, it is almost always about what you can do for them.
Your homepage is your most important part of your website, and people will make quick decisions about whether to leave or keep reading.
If the first part of your homepage is a list of YOUR accomplishments, most people will move on.
However, if you can make it about how you can transform THEIR voice, you have a much better chance of grabbing their attention.
This can be achieved with testimonials, vocal tips, or a video greeting talking about how much you love to HELP students reach THEIR goals.
Make it about them, and they will make it about studying with you.
