Web writing and publishing
The best bit of advice I can give you is do not use Word to create your IVTOM posts. Word processing and web publishing use very different methods of formatting a document. Word is a program that has its own styling codes. Web pages get their coding from HTML and their styles from CSS.
Here are some work-arounds, especially if you must use Word:
1. The only way you should paste text from a Word document into the WordPress editor is by using the “paste text from Word” button that you’ll find in the Visual Editor. WordPress will try to remove all Word-specific coding.
2. A less dangerous method is to first paste your Word text into a plain text editor and then into the WordPress editor. This removes the offending Word code.
3. The best way is to write your content directly in WP, or use a plain text editor to write content and then apply your styling after you have pasted into the WP editor.
What do I mean by plain text editor? On Windows, you already have two choices: WordPad and Notepad. On Mac, TextEdit. There are also many free and premium programs too.
